AI Governance & Management

This page covers the AI side of my work: AI governance, responsible AI, AI safety, and the practical side of using AI inside organizations.

My background in managing projects and operations shapes the questions I'm drawn to. When a company adopts an AI tool, who decides how it's used? Who is accountable when it gets something wrong? Six months later, how does anyone know it's still doing what it was meant to do? These are governance questions. They're also questions about implementation, ownership and follow-through, which is work I know well.

I offer support in this area alongside my project and operations work, and I keep deepening it through study and writing. Here you'll find the questions I'm exploring, the training I've completed and the articles I've written.

What I'm exploring and why

Why AI governance

I use AI, I study it, and I can see how much good it could do. What worries me is how quickly its capabilities are growing compared with the rules meant to keep it in check. I've built on that interest through BlueDot Impact's Future of AI course and Securiti's AI Security & Governance certification, and I write about what I learn.

Questions I'm exploring

  • How do we govern AI systems whose capabilities may grow faster than our institutions?
  • Who should decide whether a powerful system is safe enough to release?
  • What stops a government, in Nigeria or anywhere else, from turning AI surveillance against its own people?
  • What do privacy and consent mean when everyday AI tools collect our photos and data?

Responsible AI implementation

Responsible AI starts with clear accountability. A company shouldn't be able to blame an algorithm for a harmful decision. High-impact decisions need human oversight, a way to appeal, and a named person or team who answers for them. I also believe in testing before release, collecting only the data you need, and being open about how systems use people's information.

Where it meets operations

Policies only matter if someone puts them into practice. I'm interested in the implementation side of governance: decision rights, accountability, and the processes that make responsible AI part of everyday work.
